Fondant

I have been thinking of starting a blog for a while now, but I am just now getting to it. I choose the name Kimberlight because Kimberlite is a type or diamond and also a rock that has diamonds in it and I want to focus on the "light" in my life. So this blog is going to be dedicated to the little "diamonds" found in my life.

I am in a cake decorating class this semester and I have loved it. Our most recent project was working with fondant. I used to hate fondant, but now I LOVE it. I have been doing little projects at home with it and they have turned out just like I imagined. The first one was for a friend's roommate's birthday. She likes Disney so I make the cake into Minnie Mouse. It was also her 21st birthday so I wanted to do something cool.



















The next project that I did with fondant was for FHE. I had some fondant leftover from my project that I had to use and I was in charge of dessert so I got this idea and was so excited that it turned out!!! I have chosen the right major because I get so excited when my projects turn out! Well here is the cake...















Each letter was assigned to one of the 3 apartments that make up our Family Home Evening group. Also on the letters I wrote a word that corresponds with the letter it is and the apartment it was. Our FHE sister's were the Hot Mammas, and the guys were Elders (I couldn't think of anything better for them that started with 'E') and here is our apartment's. We were the Foxy Ladies!





















So I love fondant now and I love cake decorating. I love how my food makes people happy and it makes me happy too!
